Our client, who provides a comprohensive range of high tech product and systems to support the bulk storage and distribution of Oil & Gas in Delft, is looking for a Lead Software Designer / Sr. Embedded software engineer.



In the Technology department new systems are developed, designed and maintained for both land and marine applications. When this involves the birth of new systems, our involvement is from concept selection right through to volume production. Close cooperation with other disciplines like marketing, production and purchasing is an essential success factor in our work. In many cases we involve 3rd parties in our developments.



The Technology department is a dynamic multidisciplinary group of about 50 skilled engineers headquartered from Delft, but with engineers spread at locations around the world. Intercultural communication and respect are essential aspects of the job. Execution of the development process, teaming, accountability and time-2-market are keywords. All activities are project based.



The job requires work on conceptual system level as well as at design, implementation (coding) and validation stages of the project. The ideal profile for this role is a combination of a system architect and an embedded software engineer with experience in Real Time design and feeling for electronic hardware. It is a considered as a plus if the candidate also has experience and ambition to grow as technical project leader (planning, estimates, results), but the core part of the role is technically focused.



As a Lead Software Designer / Sr. Embedded software engineer you deliver technical contributions to new product development programs: specification, design, implementation, qualification (the latter with test engineer), documentation. The focus is on design and implementation.

You are responsible for developing systems that meet required specifications and you stay up to date with relevant new technological developments. You understand the impact of relevant norms/standards.



You Perform maintenance activities on critical customer support issues when needed. At request, you support Sales & Service, Marketing and Operations in the form of advice and analysis. You continuously strive to improve the development process and to assure its quality. In this role you will also estimation, planning, monitoring and execution for technical sub-projects. At last you also manage external suppliers of outsourced development activities
