Software Development Engineer

Autonomy Digital Safe is looking for a Software Development Engineer who can take specific responsibility for analysis of problem code, to join its global Operations team. This role would suit an experienced technical development engineer looking for a mix of development and code analysis activities. The engineer’s primary focus will be to assist in the troubleshooting of code to aid the resolution of problems to agreed service level and quality targets.

They will also need to contribute to the ongoing development of the Digital Safe monitoring platform by being an active member of the group’s Tools and Automation team.



Responsibilities

- Responsible for delivering code packages in a fast moving delivery focused development environment.


- Decode stack traces and analyse code to identify incident root cause working with the wider Problem and Incident teams


- Work closely with and elevate to Software Development team where appropriate


- Articulate both in writing and verbally problem summary and resolution.


- Upholding client confidentiality and privacy






Key Measures

- Problem Resolution rates


- Code defect case creation and resolution rates


- Customer Satisfaction metrics






Qualifications


Experience

- University level degree


- Experience in similar role in technical support, operations or IT


- Experience working in a SaaS environment is desirable





Knowledge/Skills

- Good understanding of Java essential


- Good understanding of Linux


- Some experience of virtualization desirable


- Knowledge of MySQL and PGSQL desirable


- Knowledge of EXT JS, Perl or the Spring framework desirable


- Excellent analytical and problem solving techniques


- Prioritization and time management skills


- Familiarity with ITIL is desirable
