Printing Engineering Test Engineer

The Printing Engineering team provides the multi-function printing and scanning foundation across all of Apple’s innovative products, including Mac OS, iPhone, iPad and Windows. Combining cutting-edge software technologies with the next generation hardware, printing engineering takes the printing experience to the next level.

The Mac OSX printing team is looking for a software quality engineer with a strong technical background who would like to play a key role qualifying OSX printing functionality. Build on your QA/Development experience to develop and maintain testing frameworks.


Key Qualifications:

•2+ years experience in Software QA.

•Programming in C/Objective-C/C++.

•Proficiency in shell scripting, Perl and/or Python.

•Experience developing complete unit tests, tools, automation and API tests desired.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Familiarity with iOS, Mac OS-X, Unix, Windows, Xcode a plus.

•Experience with Mac OSX printing technologies.

•Solid fundamental knowledge of software testing techniques, methodologies and practices.

•Familiarity with setting up & managing devices (Knowledge of printer hardware is a plus.)

•Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise work accordingly.


Description:

Job responsibilities include:



* Structured comprehensive functional test design & execution

* Collaboration with engineering in the creation of comprehensive test plans

* Regression testing & bug writing



You will work very closely with the development team and cross functional teams to ensure quality is of the highest level. Your focus will mainly be on functional testing, unit testing, performance testing, API testing and developing test tools. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of methodical testing strategies and accompanying test documentation. Day to day activities will include development/automation of test tools, functional/system/regression testing, ad-hoc testing, performance testing; creating and tracking high quality bug reports; and reporting on project progress & risk analysis.



This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong coding, testing and communication skills who can deliver in a fast-paced environment. You should be proficient with shell scripting, perl/python and familiar with Unix command shell. You also should have a solid programming background preferably in C/Objective- C/C++.


Education:

B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
