The role will drive Process improvement initiatives within the direct material procurement business. The role will lead project teams including business and IS&T participants in building and driving appropriate process and system changes to optimize business process flows. The role will work closely with Apple OEM and Supplier groups to enable and address cross organizational impact.

Description



The essential duties of this position include:

•Process development and issue resolution

•Manages, plans and organizes project activities

•Develops business project plans/schedules

•Identifies and manages to major project milestones

•Obtains key personnel to work on project teams while balancing business needs and expectations

•Communicates project status on a regular basis

•Manages project risk throughout the life of the project

•Conducts weekly project meetings

•Develops and maintains issues logs to ensure accountability to the resolution of key issues

•Partners with IS&T to ensure that customer and stakeholder expectations are met and managed

•Incorporates Apple best practices for Project Management to ensure consistent delivery of a quality project

•Communicates with customers and stakeholders to ensure quality of product and service

•Prioritizes and delegates key project tasks to team members

•Ensures the business is prepared for the change

•Provides customers and stakeholders with alternatives when key problems surface on the project

•Writes formal business requirements documents for projects/enhancements

•Leads brainstorming sessions to gather requirements

•Assists business units in creating quality BHU Documents

•Creates business case documentation for Sr. Management on selected projects

•Assists in the roll out of the new project management methodology and ensuring the PM One’s and Two’s are utilizing the methodology

•Completes knowledge transfer to business unit employees to teach them how to write business requirements

•Acts as a liaison between the business and IS&T to ensure business project needs are adequately met with technology solutions

•Assists in the development of strategy for their particular business process area

•Identifies and leads business process re-engineering projects

•Maintains a global/regional resource plan within a given business process discipline

•Provides consulting expertise through effective communication to customers, stakeholders, management, staff and peers to ensure expectations are met

•Experience / History of taking initiative to drive/lead/coordinate an effort among a team of people (formal project or not.)



Education



•Bachelors degree



Additional Requirements



MFG / OEM BPR specific requirements

Process or Industrial Engineering experience preferred

Direct Operational or IS&T experience preferred

B2B communications (EDI, XML, FTP) experience

International manufacturing experience a plus

Some direct experience with Information System / Business Enterprise Application (PLUS: ERP or other inventory tracking/order processing systems.) Ability to develop test scenarios to exercise/validate software application features. Experience required (2 years) in at least one of the following:

- next-generation system implementation project experience (subject matter expert preferred, not limited to Project Management/task tracking)

- 2nd-level application functional support (manage escalated trouble tickets, diagnose issues and identify resolution options)

- business operations Super User level

Experience working in fast-paced environment with time-critical launch dates (not typically subject to negotiation.) Highly organized and able to identify critical path issues, and logically resolve obstacles based on relative dependencies.
