SAP Security Specialist

Essential Job Functions

• Provides basic design documents and translates into component-level designs to accelerate development. Designs, develops, and distributes reusable technical components.
  


• Provides design expertise in support of development team efforts to provide flexible reusable components to increase cost effectiveness. Analyzes, designs and modifies applications and suites of applications to ensure satisfaction of customer specifications.
  


• Acts as liaison between application architects and development teams to ensure that product development and implementation are coordinated.
  


• Conducts technical research and evaluation of tools and methodologies to ensure that designs adhere to current industry, client and company standards. Assists in developing technical documentation; participates in test-plan development, integration and deployment.
  


• Defines and develops project requirements, functional specifications and detailed designs of application solutions for clients using appropriate development methodologies and industry standards.
  


• Works closely with appropriate client management level and engineering team members to assist in designing applications that meet client and industry specifications.
  


• Assists product development teams and senior designers in developing design requirements that are accurate and relevant to company needs.
  


• Participates in selecting, acquiring, configuring and troubleshooting packaged solutions and technical infrastructure components.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
    
  
  
  • Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, computer science or related field preferred
    
  
  
  • Previous product design and support experience
    
  
  
  • Experience working with software design, development methodologies and implementation
    
  
  
  • Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software
    
  
  
  • Experience working with application design and development processes, including specification, documentation and quality assurance

    • Ability to manage a queue of support & project work In depth knowledge of SAP Security SAP CUA, R/3 upgrade process & LDAP Basic skills qualifications:
    
    
    • Serve as a member of the application security team that provides administration and oversight regarding both the ongoing and strategic security configuration of a large SAP environment
    
    
    • Provide Security sustaining End-User support and user provisioning in all SAP environments, R/3 4.7 and ERP 6.0, CRM 2007, GTS version 7.1, SRM versions 2.0 and 5.0 Obtain and refine existing requirements for ongoing role based security
    
    
    • Understand the security implications of new business decisions
    
    
    • Understand the security requirements of client
    
    
    • Work with functional/process team to refine requirements and develop solutions to application security issues including segregation of duties (SOD)
    
    
    • Ensure key user administration processes are followed and integrity is maintained Interface with audit team to ensure risk mitigating controls are in place and operating effectively
    
    
    • Participate in help desk support of the End-User community (e.g., process questions, best practices, etc.)
    
    
    • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
    
    
    • Minimum four plus years of experience in SAP Security Firm understanding of SAP's authorization concept and ability to articulate depth of understanding of key components to fellow security administrators as well as functional team members
    
    
    • Proficiency in the use of SAP Security Administration Tools, Reporting Tools, and other means to compliment and maintain security designs In depth experience in various BW Security components including SEM BPS/BCS and key BASIS components (transports, key security profile parameters, etc.)
    
    
    • In-depth knowledge and experience with CUA, R/3 upgrade process with specific focus on security impacts, ITS/ESS (both from security and administrative levels)
    
    
    • Experience with Single Sign-On/LDAP technology with R/3 and SAP Portal Experience with one or more SAP upgrade process from a security perspective
    
    
    • Understanding of government contracting processes and regulations ABAP programming language experience
    
    
    • Experience with Archer/SOx Familiarity with Access Risk Mitigation Software and IdM (Identity Management) concepts
    
    
    • Direct experience with audits including Sarbanes-Oxley, general computing controls, and access controls
    
    
    • Strong problem-solving and time management skills and the ability to manage a queue of support and project work
    
    
    • US Citizen or GC Holder
