We are currently recruiting for a Head of Service and Operations.
The Head of Service and Operations will manage my clients IT operation ensuring a top level of service is achieved and clear visibility of performance is provided to all relevant stakeholders. You will take control of the live IT estate and managing releases, access, support, patching and maintenance in conjunction with my client's outsourced providers in a way that enables maximum performance and availability. You will demonstrate return on investment by providing regular service reporting to customers and internal stakeholders.
Alongside this, you will be responsible for all first and second line service and support, IT business continuity, management of my client's assets, all infrastructure (production and non-production), capacity planning and management of third party IT contracts. Furthermore, you will ensure all systems are adequately supported during all hours required by augmenting and enhancing the IT outsourced services such as Service Management (incident, problem, change).
You will manage third party providers and IT operations resources to provide top quality performance and availability of the IT estate whilst working with customer stakeholders as required and ensure a quality service is provided by IT.
Key Responsibilities;
- Manage multiple teams of IT technical staff providing operational services and service management to my client and their customers
- Ensure adequate support and monitoring is provided for all technologies
- Manage best in class service management processes
- Ensure customers and business colleagues receive good value for investment in IT Service based on ITIL principles
- Ensure the operational teams maintain a strong relationship with customers and business stakeholders and that they have a deep understanding of the business context in which they work
- Overall responsibility for IT service and operations, working with the IT Delivery team to transition changes into the live estate
- Drive innovative, value add solutions for customers and business colleagues
- Represent IT at senior levels within customer and business stakeholder groups
Skills and experience;
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Excellent communications (written and oral) and presentation skills
- Strong people management skills
- Strong technical skills
- Deep understanding of systems (application, infrastructure and data)
- Experience of working in a matrix management environment
- Experience of third party relationship management and development
- Solid IT technical background in areas such as IT support, management of software development, service management or IT project management
- Ability to work at all levels, including the Senior Management team
- Self-motivated, attention to detail and ability to deliver under pressure
