Learning Support Assistant

The school itself is a large 2 form entry school based in Hackney with a large and dedicated team of talented staff and so are looking for a friendly and outgoing Learning Support Assistant to become a valuable addition to their team.
The job itself will involve offering 1:1 support to an autistic child on a daily basis, ensuring that they are getting the emotional and academic support needed. The child is also hearing impaired and has cognitive difficulties and so experience of supporting this is desired but not essential. You will be responsible for supporting the child, amongst others with their academic development, especially in Maths and English.
To be considered for this role it is vital that you have the following:
• Recent referenceable experience of working in a similar role, preferably in a primary school setting
• Experience of supporting a child with autism
• A firm understanding of the UK national curriculum and child safeguarding and protection procedures
• Extensive knowledge of SEN
• Fluent in English
