Procurement Manager

Glasgow, United Kingdom, GB - Defense & Space

Our client, a well known global organisation, are currently seeking a Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join their growing team in Glasgow. Your role will be managing the procurement activities for a specific complex project, commodities will be high value and high risk equipment, services and resources.



This project will be focusing on transformation/change management, gaining efficiencies and implementing lean strategies across the procurement project. This job will suit an innovative individual with strong procurement and contract management experience within a large complex environment.





KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring arrangements are in place to buy, distribute, take delivery and incorporate contracts into the projects


• Ensuring individual procurement / supply chain strategies/negotiation plans/make v buy plans for each contract are in place


• Leading and managing supplier response evaluation activities and clarifications to seek the best value for money solutions


• Engaging and supporting stakeholders on activities to generate, negotiate and place contracts with selected suppliers. Activities include agreed scope definition, contracting frameworks, prices and delivery schedules


• Managing the resolution of performance issues with the contract (eg populating claims database while actively protecting the company revenues


• Revenue/Budget Responsibility


• Typically managing a team of between 2-6 people, managing a range of Procurement / Supply Chain activities with values ranging from £200K to £10M.

This role requires a procurement professional with MCIPS or equivalent experience; experience in a large complex environment (ie engineering, oil and gas would be beneficial) Experience of change management/transformation/six sigma would be beneficial but not essential.
