Specialist - Technology Consultant

Successful candidate will play a leadership role in delivery of complex and/or large scale projects and proposals for engagements that deliver consulting services and solutions across a wide range of clients, both in the public and private sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing IT Infrastructure solutions to meet customer requirements, providing innovation, value and quality resulting in high levels of customer satisfaction.

• Responsible for implementing part or all of the technical solution to the client, in accordance with the agreed technical design.

• Present within your area of expertise as part of customer sales presentations, effectively communicating domain-specific information

• Produce complete designs or proposals for smaller engagements within your area of expertise.

• Liaises with Solutions Architect as appropriate.

• Providing technical leadership on specific integration activities that are part of an engagement

• Providing coaching, guidance and leadership to colleagues

• Sharing knowledge and experience through formal and informal knowledge management initiatives

You should be comfortable working in an environment where leading-edge technologies are being specified, designed and deployed. You must be able to develop solutions that address the business challenges and priorities being faced by your clients. Projects will involve multiple HP Business Units, partners and geographies.

As a Technology Consultant you will be expected to provide technical input to bids and proposals for new business. This will include both the crafting of innovative solutions as well as working with sales and project management resources to provide input to effort and cost estimations.

You will be expected to show mastery of core technology areas and provide guidance and support to colleagues in your key technology areas.

Successful individuals must be willing to undergo Security Clearance. We are recruiting candidates for projects across Ireland (also possibly UK and EMEA) therefore a genuine willingness to travel for relevant project work with our clients is essential.

• Demonstrate a depth and breadth of technical knowledge to design and scope multiple deliverables across a number of technologies with expertise in area of specialization.

• Applies broad understanding of technical innovations and trends to solving customer business problems..

• Demonstrates ability to work as the lead for components of large complex projects.

• Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Ability to write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer specific RFP questions).

• Ability to translate verbal requirements from face to face client meetings into requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals.

• Ability to discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with a customer, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. From the requirements, be able to develop a high level design or plan, and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver. Able to advise the engagement owner about the risks associated with this work package.

You need to have a proven track record of successful delivery of IT infrastructure projects. You will be creative, positive, self motivated and should ideally have experience of delivering projects in two of more of the following technology areas:

• Data Centre Transformations and Migration. Including experience of Enterprise Solutions designed for High Availability.

• Microsoft Solutions such as AD, Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, SQL, SCOM, SCCM

• Cloud Solutions

• Server Infrastructure e.g. HP Blade and Converged Infrastructure, SAN and Storage, Backup and Archiving, Automation, Deployment, Management and Monitoring.

• Infrastructure optimization and virtualization including VDI e.g. Citrix solutions.

• Network Infrastructure experience including switching, firewalls and load balancers.
