HP Security Voltage Presales Engineer responsibilities include:
•Providing pre-sales technical support to new and existing customers of all sizes (SMB, F-100, and Federal.) as part of the HP Security Voltage team
•Execute successful POCs (includes writing code if necessary)
•Liaise with executive technical teams from CTO to Development and Operations during sales engagements
•Present Product information using your excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Respond to RFIs and RFPs
•Provide feedback internally to enhance the product, processes and knowledge including authoring papers and creating technical materials as needed
•Build strong relationships with customers to advance deals
•Work with partners including global systems integrators as a mentor and subject matter expert advisor
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
•Technical University degree or Bachelor's degree preferred
•Typically 8-12 years experience in technical consultative selling and account management
•Technical and solution experience in IT industry
•Experience in encryption and key management technologies preferred
Knowledge and Skills Required:
•Has a solid understanding of selling enterprise software
•Displays excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
•Demonstrates solid understanding of enterprise application infrastructure (Web Servers, Application Servers, Databases, SOA, Web Services, Messaging, etc.)
•Well versed with Key Management and Encryption technologies
•Has previous experience with PCI DSS requirements and tokenization technologies
•Has an excellent grasp of enterprise integration challenges
•Brings to HP a solid foundation in Relational Databases – design, implementation, and concepts
•Shows an ability to quickly create scripts and write code to prove scenarios and realize customer use cases
•Establishes thought leadership in the enterprise key management and encryption area with customers
•Has demonstrated hands-on level skills with some of the technology
•Appropriately tailors communications to varying levels of customer management
•Extensive level of industry acumen; keeps current with trends and able to converse with client on issues and challenges
•Demonstrates strong communications skills with IT and LOB managers, as well as some C-level executives
•Leverages strong understanding of the competition - both positioning strategy and technology - to create competitive advantage for HP
