Key Qualifications

  • Solid planning and communication skills
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams and manage multiple partners
  • 5 years of industry experience
  • 4 years of program/project management experience
  • Be proactive and firm with partners/vendors
  • Experience with wireless standards (3GPP, EMVCo, 802.11, Bluetooth, CTIA)
  • Experience with protocol stack features for LTE, WCDMA, BT, WiFi, NFC
  • Familiar with industry/regulatory certification and specifications for type approval
  • Willingness to travel if needed

Description

The Certification Engineering Program Manager (EPM) is responsible for technical partner management and certification of wireless devices.

The Certification EPM will work together with a team of highly skilled project managers, test engineers, and developers. He/She will provide the key interface between external teams and partner test labs to Apple’s internal test and development teams. He/She will schedule and coordinate test sessions, ensure all issues are tracked, and report issues back to the development teams.

The candidate applies his/her detailed technical knowledge of wireless standards (Cellular, NFC, Bluetooth, WiFi) to understand, prioritize, and drive resolution to issues found during certification testing. The candidate will also support the product definition process with regards to certification.

The role includes the following duties:
•Support and drive the industry approval of wireless devices (PTCRB/GCF, BT-SIG, WFA, NFC)
•Report project status, prioritize tasks, drive issue resolution to completion
•Generate and own compliance documents for wireless devices
•Define and coordinate internal/external lab certification tests
•Analyze network features and operator requirements and provide feedback to engineering and marketing with regards to complexities and capability

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. MS preferred
