HR OFFICER/ASSISTANT / 12 MONTH CONTRACT / £20,000 PER ANNUM / EXETER
To assist the Head of Human Resources and HR Advisors in the achievement of the HR critical success factors as agreed by the organisation.
To provide advice and guidance to staff and work supervisors in relation to HR related matters and the Firm's staff policies and procedures
Assist the HR Advisors with the ongoing implementation and management of the HR system including:- Supporting the maintenance of records on the HR system including payroll instructions in relation to new starters, leavers and staff changes- Supporting the production of standard letters and precedents - Assisting in the development and production of appropriate management reports- Administering exit interviews and analysing questionnaires· Assist the HR Advisors in providing advice and guidance to staff and work supervisors on HR practice and the Firm's formal staff policies and procedures, across all offices· Support trainee solicitor recruitment, induction and administration·Support the achievement/maintenance of quality standards, i.e. Investors in People,· Support benefits administration as required, in liaison with the Benefits and Projects Assistant·Arrange meetings, appointments and interviews as required·Any other duties as may be required·Treat all information in a confidential manner.

Ability to establish rapport with staff at all levels as well as external contacts·
Ability to speak clearly, effectively and persuasively both face to face and on the telephone· Ability to produce clear, concise and fluent written work using appropriate style language and grammar· Ability to fit in with the team and develop effective and supportive relationships with colleagues· Ability to organise, motivate and empower others to achieve goals and objectives · Information Handling: · Ability to provide relevant and correct information· Ability to identify potential problems and areas of conflict and generate workable solutions in the absence of the Head of Human Resources· Ability to appreciate and understand the impact of the role in relation to the overall aims of the Firm as a whole and update job knowledge as required · Ability to understand the Firm's services and deal with enquiries as appropriate· Administrative Skills:· Ability to successfully utilise the Firm's IT systems· Ability to organise time effectively and work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure· Ability to be responsive to the needs of the business· Ability to produce quality work which is accurate and of a high standard
