With Atos Managed Services, the UK&I Business Office is responsible for delivering proposals to around 150 existing Atos customers. Business Office proposals worth around £200M to Atos are issued every year and this represents around 70% of incremental sales by value.


The Business Office is involved in an ambitious programme of change to its solution and proposal development and delivery capabilities in order to achieve targets to improve turnaround time, customer experience and the value of deals covered by the function.


The Business Office team is made up of around 100 Atos staff based in the UK and in India and of these around 60 are engaged in solution development, around 30 in operations management, and the remainder leading and managing the function and its change programme.


The areas in which this role will contribute are:



  • Transitions – introducing a new account or new customer to the Business Office so that it can receive services going forward.

  • Performance Improvement – leading a focussed effort to improve the performance of the Business Office service in concert with Account Teams and Customers.

  • Include information that is key to the role, for example the strategic objectives and direction of the business unit and how it fits into the wider organisational structure.


In Transitions:



  • Meeting with Atos Account Team colleagues and Customer staff to present a summary the transition approach overall and at each stage through the process

  • Meeting with Atos Account Team colleagues and Customer staff to present an overview and subsequently conduct end user training in the use of the Business Office workflow toolset

  • Guiding Atos Account Team colleagues and Customer staff through the Transition method so as to create the Work Products and Deliverables specified by it

  • Creating reports and summaries of Transition progress for use in Governance meetings and status reviews.

  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of the Transition Method based on experiences with individual transitions


In Performance Improvement:



  • Working directly with Atos Account Teams and Business Office colleagues to identify performance issues for specific customers or for an individual Business Office

  • Undertaking analysis of data and reports to establish underlying trends

  • Undertaking root cause analysis in order to establish the underlying issues and opportunities for performance improvement

  • Prioritising issues and opportunities based on the benefits that can be achieved through addressing them

  • Defining an action plan to address the issues and opportunities

  • Managing progression of the work relative to the plan

  • Tracking the effectiveness of the action plan through clear measurements of changes in performance

  • Creating reports and summaries of Performance Improvement progress for use in Governance meetings and status reviews


Job Requirements


Essential Skills



  • The ability to lead and contribute to meetings and workshops both within and organisation and with third parties (whether customers or suppliers)

  • The ability to lead presentations, demonstrations and training sessions guiding the participants through an approach or in the use of a system.

  • An ability to undertake data analysis using normal desktop tools such as spreadsheets with experience in using this to both detect and diagnose issues and find opportunities

  • Attention to detail because we will be making changes that will be used hundreds of times every month and they need to work

  • A natural ability to collaborate within a team and in fact to support its formation in new engagements


Desirable Skills



  • Experience of applying business process modelling and business process re-engineering

  • Experience of applying industry-wide problem solving and improvement methods eg lean engineering and six sigma techniques
