The business:

A privately owned and profitable, international leisure business currently experiencing growth and change involving senior leadership changes, rebranding, restructure and extensive development of the finance function. They are looking to build the best finance team in the industry through attracting in top talent and see this appointment as a critical hire. The business has projected growth through increased market share and international acquisitions, and will be looking to embark on a premium listing process over the next 2 years.



The role:

The Financial Controller will report to both the Group FC and CFO and will take ownership of the Group's financial and management reporting team with the main objective of transforming the Group Finance function to deliver the highest standards of public company accounting and reporting. The FC will lead and develop a team of four to ensure delivery at the highest standards. They will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders and will therefore possess the necessary gravitas to influence and build relationships at all levels. This is a strategic position that will also require a hands-on presence to ensure the team's smooth delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. The FC will support senior management with varied projects in association with the IPO, on boarding of new acquisitions and ad hoc commercial projects and analysis. There will be scope for this individual to take full oversight for the commercial finance team of three in due course.



The ideal candidate:

Graduate calibre qualified accountant with first time passes and strong academic track record (ACA preferred)

Circa 5 years PQE with experience working within complex business (ideally PLC) environment

Experience in driving a monthly, quarterly and year end close activity to tight deadlines.

Experience in producing statutory accounts for multiple entities will be highly desirable.

Can demonstrate a history of driving best practice and a passion for continuous improvement to deliver an industry leading financial reporting and control environment and must have the energy and enthusiasm to strive for success

Possesses keen commercial acumen and the ability to make strategic decisions based upon sound financial information

Strong IT Skills, including MS Excel (advanced),
