Product Manager

Hays Marketing is recruiting an experienced Product Manager with a FMCG/Consumer Durable background, to join a fast paced marketing team.

Reporting directly to the Marketing Director Reporting, and alongside the Marketing Manager, the key responsibilities and performance measures for this role are: -

To support the Innovation Process and improve product development pipeline by working with cross functional teams to deliver priority innovation projects

Search & conduct initial screening of concepts, conduct trade research, commission consumer research (qual. & quant.) to effectively evaluate and refine concepts

Develop effective design briefs to communicate product concepts to internal and external teams

Use consumer research during the development process to further refine the developing products, and working with Marketing Manager to ensure launch communications are highly motivating to the consumer

Support Marketing Manager's workload as required, including: customer trade shows / Consumer shows / Catalogue / Website / PR

Brief consumer communication requirements to agency / graphic designer to enable successful launch

Brief Trade Marketing Manager on POS requirements to enable successful launch

All required inputs to project team including: development of all packaging & leaflets, etc

Launch support to National Account Manager's. (Customer Presentations)

Responsibility for all analysis for the growing media category

Product Group Reviews & Monthly sales analysis

Support business simplification process with reports and recommendation for the category & manage the feedback as to which sku's should be retained

Skills required:

Educated to Degree Level

Marketing Qualification desirable (eg CIM)

Extensive experience in product management within consumer durable or FMCG environment

Experience of NPD through a formal milestone process desirable

Fluency with MS office essential

COGNOS experience highly desirable
