Head Of Procurement - Shared Services

Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, GB - Construction

Fantastic opportunity to join this market leading organisation to lead their newly created Procurement Shared Service, which provides a service business wide for the procurement of indirect goods and services, Hired services and building products.

You will play a lead role in developing and managing the interface between the Shared Service , Group Procurement function and local procurement structures to maintain compliance with group supply strategy, group purchasing agreements and frameworks and Group procurement procedures



Key focus will be to ensure "best in class" procurement service consistently achieving agreed service level indicators and Key performance metrics to support internal and external stakeholders / customers and suppliers



Key Tasks and Accountabilities



* lead and monitor the performance of the SSC to ensure SLA's are being met and exceeded wherever possible

* Actively promote and oversee constant process improvements, skills development, category management and key supplier management

* Work collaboratively with other departments and key stakeholders

* Coordinate and report the success of source plans with Regional Supply Chain Managers and Operational teams, building strong relationships and carry out periodic reviews of the Group Supply Agreements including pricing, rebates, delivery performance, invoicing issues KPI's and benchmarking

* Support the Group Procurement Director with the development and production of purchasing policies, procedures and specifications to meet the needs of the group



Person Specification



* Role requires an experienced and highly motivated procurement professional who can lead and establish a thriving Procurement Shared Service Centre

* Significant and demonstrable experience of materials procurement gained in a construction or civil engineering environment and a detailed understanding of supply chain management principles would be highly beneficial

* Detailed understanding of building, highways and utility services

* Experience of leading and managing a "best in class" central procurement shared service to a complex national business

* Demonstrable experience of delivering significant cost-savings within a complex organisational structure

* Ability to lead and change whilst working collaboratively with the business units to provide support as required

* Experience and Knowledge of COINS/ Oracle and membership of CIPS would be an advantage
