UK Financial Controller

Our Client, a multi-national Private Company ,specializing in the production of components for the Automotive, Medical and Building sector have appointed Hays to source and recruit their new UK Financial Controller. Technically the UK Number one you shall report to Group Director of Accounting and be able to independently manage the various activities of the finance function in the UK.

An exciting opportunity, our Client is looking to recruit a bright qualified accountant with 4-5 years' experience within a similar position ideally operating within the manufacturing sector. In addition to the specific aspects of administration and accountancy, our Client require proven experience in the development of reporting and controlling functions as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work in groups.



Key elements:



* Ensure timely production of statutory and internal financial reports

* Preparation and completion of Month-end closure

* Production of UK cash-flow forecasting

* Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash flows

* Continuous development and improvement over financial reporting and financial controls

* Oversee financial ledgers and maintain accounting processes

* Ensure that appropriate business systems and controls are implemented and maintained

* Oversee the payroll process which although currently outsourced may be regained in-house

* Liaise with the Group Managing personnel on cash planning and management

* GAAP (Italian) and CAPEX reporting



Essential knowledge &skills:



* Fully qualified Accountant - Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) or equivalent with previous financial control and management reporting experience

* Confident self-starter with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment with a fast growing business

* Demonstrate good attention to detail and good judgement through logical decision making.

* Management/Supervision experience

* Strong commercial awareness

* Solid understanding of accounting software principles

* Advanced level Power Point, Excel, Word and Outlook

* Experience working alongside management personnel in order to explain, advise and communicate on current and future financial position.



Desirable knowledge &skills:



* Previous experience within a manufacturing business

* Multi-currency management

* GAAP reporting (Italian)
