Senior UI Software Engineer - HP Helion

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and open-source savvy engineer to develop an innovative, elegant, and high performing UI. You will exercise your expertise in performance, architecture, and object-oriented design to deliver compelling customer experiences and solve challenging product requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Sr. UI Engineer with the Helion team, you can expect to:
- Design, develop, and implement data-driven interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript / jQuery
- Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
- Identify core engineering challenges and formulate problem statements
- Develop, implement and maintain software development procedures and methodologies
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the development team, coordinating and participating in the projects lifecycle
- Provide technical leadership in research, analysis, design, and implementation in support of ongoing operations and software development needs
- Assist in the enhancement of methodologies related to quality and maintainability
- Contribute to the overall design and development of the products we build and support, with a focus on scalability, usability, maintainability and performance
- Participate in code review sessions with other lead and senior developers and suggest improvements or alternate strategies when appropriate
- Mentor team members and developers
- Be an active participant in the OpenStack and Cloud Foundry communities
Qualifications
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
You will have many of the following skills and attributes:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent Industry experience
- 7+ years relevant software development experience
- Strong experience with core web technologies (XML, CSS, HTML, Flash/Flex, JavaScript and Ajax development techniques)
- Strong technical credentials, with development expertise in Python, Django Web Framework, Database Interaction, Messaging Interaction, Service Oriented Architectures, CSS Frameworks
- Full Stack engineer comfortable and familiar with Chef/Puppet/Salt type tooling
- Extensive experience with multiple software systems design tools and languages
- Familiarity with developing in a Linux environment
- Strong entrepreneurial desire to build amazing products, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
