ROLE DISCRIPTION
HP is looking for a Project Services Graduate to join the Enterprise Services Project Services Programme Management Department.
The successful applicant will embark on a structured graduate placement within the Enterprise Security Services Programme Management office team and will receive the required skills and training to work towards a formal project management qualification (CAPM) and a junior Project Manager position within the 2 year programme.
In-house induction to HP as a global IT organisation and career development within security consulting project management will be part of the programme and you will take part in a series of courses covering the personal skills you will need at this stage in your career as well as receiving coaching in developing and working within project management in a complex global IT organisation commercially delivering to global clients.
This role is for an analyst to sit within the Programme Management Office supporting a team of project and programme managers on various accounts.
They will assist and support the project managers to ensure the delivery elements of the project are suitably tracked and supported, adhering to standards and contributing to quality, as well as assisting in ensuring:
o The standards & procedures of the project/program.
o This includes the definition, maintenance, distribution, documentation and control of templates, documents and processes.
o The storage and maintenance of project/program information.
o The update and maintenance of change, issue and risk logs.
o The consolidation of status reports for project managers and program management.
o The transfer of information from the status reports to logs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
ROLE REQUIRMENTS
o Support the project manager/project team in ensuring that forecasts and project finances are maintained.
o Produce reports for the programme/ project management team that identify schedule issues and their potential impact on the project and escalate these issues where required.
o Support the project manager with planning generation & maintenance within Microsoft Project 2003 (MSP).
o Act as a single point of contact for information correlated and stored on the appropriate workspace for the programme/project, ensuring correct version control
o Act as a single point of contact for project managers by assisting with the coordination /preparation of Project/Programme documentation, Change Control, Risks and Issues/Opportunities and Management Information.
o Support Project Services Team in documentation production, management and maintenance
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
o Understanding of project management methods that can be built upon as part of the programme and experience
o The ability to exercise independent judgement within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follow established guidelines and interpret policies. Evaluate unique circumstances and make recommendation.
SKILLS / BEHAVIOURS
o Excellent English language communication skills (written and spoken)
o Ability to manage project resources and maintain client relationships
o Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with staff at all levels in an organisation
o Proactive thinking – the ability to come up with options and solutions
o Organised and methodical and not afraid to seek support
o Candidates should possess a passion to develop their career as an ambitious and achieving project manager
