AppleCare Demand Planning Manager

The position is a leadership role in AppleCare’s Planning & Procurement organization.
The role requires significant leadership skills coupled with significant planning and materials management experience and understanding. The successful candidate will need to be able to inspire a team to excellence in customer service.
The successful candidate will manage global demand planning for Apple’s service organization (AppleCare). This position requires a heavy amount of collaboration with Field Services, Retail Planning, and the planning and procurement teams. The ideal candidate will have strong demand planning background, experience with process and systems development, and materials management experience.
The individual will be held accountable for the overall global operational effectiveness of his/ her extended team including demand planning accuracy, key customer CSAT, and internal and external customer safety stock policies. The candidate will need to utilize in-depth knowledge of planning and analysis to help trouble-shoot daily issues and drive for resolution.
Key Qualifications
- 5-10 years in a Service, Manufacturing or Logistics Operation.
- 3-5 years Minimum in a managerial role.
- Experience in demand planning and/ or materials management required.
- Exemplary communication skills
- Experience with Demand Planning/Forecasting tools
- SAP / APO Demand Planning experience
- Analytical & detail-oriented
- Strong Excel skills and modeling capability
- Experience with executive-level reporting
Description
Manage a diverse team of planners
• Manage Global forecasting and demand planning for all product families
• Develop demand planning strategic roadmap and work with IT on enhancement and projects to improve forecasting and planning capabilities and efficiency
• Accountable for achieving forecast accuracy goals as established by management
• Balance workloads and drive daily execution to hit customer service & inventory targets
• Assist in detailed problem-solving/ trouble-shooting when needed
• Help develop improved planning processes & lead new systems enhancements when required
• Help drive all new collaboration efforts with internal and external customers
• Drive improvements in system-generated forecasts
• Challenge/ validate demand signal creation to optimize overall accuracy/usability of the demand signal
• Train and develop direct reports
• Regular presentations to AppleCare’s leadership team
Education
BA/ BS. MBA Preferred
