Analog Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer

As an IC Design Engineer for the Melbourne Design Center, the individual’s primary responsibility will be the design of analog and mixed signal circuits. This will include definition, specification, schematic capture, simulation and post-layout verification of the analog functions.



Key Qualifications

• 5 years or more experience in the design of analog and mixed signal ICs.


• Detailed knowledge of the specification, design, verification and validation of analog / mixed signal IC functions.


• Experience in both continuous time and switched capacitor design techniques.


• Knowledge of best practices with respect to analog and mixed signal layout.


• Familiarity with CAE tools associated with Analog- Mixed Signal IC design and verification including transistor level simulators, power analysis, noise analysis, mixed-mode simulation, parasitic extraction and system. simulation. Experience with Cadence Front Tools is a plus (i.e. OA).


• Ability to model analog circuits at a higher level with tools such as Matlab.


• Experience in hands-on lab evaluation.


• Proven ability to take analog/Mixed Signal designs from concept to mass production.

Description



Core Responsibilities:



• Work with systems team to understand the top level requirements of the analog functions and develop detailed specifications

• Implement the design to specification including

- behavioral modeling with Verilog-AMS/AMS designer

- development of circuit architecture and topology

- detailed transistor level design

- work with mask design engineer to optimize layout for area and performance

- perform monte-carlo and corner sims with back annotated parasitics

- document the design and prepare for design reviews

• Top Level simulation and verification of Analog/ Mixed Signal chip sub-section

• Top Level simulation and verification of Analog / Mixed Signal plus digital control

• Perform lab evaluation of analog / mixed signal functions as required

• Work with Test Engineering to implement ATE program that provides functional and parametric coverage

• Support system integration and modeling as required
