Project Manager for FDIC (Arlington, VA)

Essential Job Functions
- Provide full cycle management of 3 to 5 moderate-to-complex, large-scale infrastructure engineering projects with a wide range of enterprise technologies, tools and platforms. Define, scope, plan, and execute projects to meet customer expectations for timeliness, efficiency and technical merit of assigned projects.
- Will be proactive leader and facilitator to ensure effective project planning and execution.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for the customer and a liaison between technical and management resources for project-related activities, escalations and communication.
- Defines and validates requirements and scope, develops work breakdown structures and project schedules, assigns and manages engineering and support resources, plans and oversees project execution and solution delivery using program-defined project governance standards and delivery criteria.
- Organizes project teams, communicates project priorities and progress with stakeholders, manages costs, schedules, and quality by overseeing project activities and deliverables; and assists in defining, designing, and implementing solution-specific infrastructure modifications.
- Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the customer to define and document project scope, priority, budgets and schedules.
- Validating requirements and work products and acting as point of contact for customer management and technical personnel, ensuring communication and understanding of objectives, scope, assignments, dependencies, and timelines.
- Selecting and assigning project resources and technical staff.
- Performing ongoing reviews of project work products and timely communicating project status, issues, risks and achievements; representing projects during internal and customer-facing reviews and governance gates.
- Preparing, reviewing and maintaining project artifacts using Microsoft Project, MS SharePoint, and MS Office, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, and other standard technical management tools
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, engineering or related field preferred
- Eight or more years of project planning/management experience
- Experience working with project management methodology such as Catalyst including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices
- Experience working with productivity and methodology tools that increase project efficiency and effectiveness
- Experience working with administrative processes
- Experience working with client vision, business objectives, and critical success factors
- Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures relevant to area
- Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases

- Willingness to travel
- PMP certification required
- Preferred:
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification
- Process engineering and improvement skills
