As a Front-End Engineer at HP Software, you will have a track record of architecting the front end stack for an online experience, developing and launching dynamic end-to-end online experiences, using the latest web technologies, and operating in a fast-paced and technically driven environment. You will define and build a web experience which arms our prospects/customers with valuable information to make decisions, helps them understand our products and solutions, simplifies the software buying process, grows application development marketplaces, and fosters communities that offer support, ideas, and thought leadership.

This role reports to the Director of Front End Engineering, HP Software. The position offers the unique opportunity to operate in an entrepreneurial environment and to define the strategy, innovation and evolution of our online business.



Key Responsibilities

• Architect and build the front-end experience and technical stack for HP Software’s online presence.


• Define technical requirements for business applications and tools that integrate with the front-end experience, including analytics tools, marketing automation software, and content management system.


• Execute on use cases and product requirements that require integration with numerous backend systems like Salesforce.com, SAP, identity management, entitlement, etc.


• Work closely with business units across the expansive product portfolio and with an immediate team of designers and product managers to drive priorities, roadmap, and execution.


• Develop innovative approaches to buying software online and engaging developers and IT professionals through an app marketplace and/or communities and forums.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in CS or a related field.
  


• 3+ years experience in web software development.
  


• Demonstrated ability to negotiate, plan, prioritize and execute deliverables while working in a fast paced, ambitious and event driven environment.
  


• Well organized, results oriented self-starter with a sense of urgency.
  


• Experience developing consumer web products.
  


• Proficient with the latest web technologies.
  


• Full web stack skill set: front-end, application layer, and DB
  


• Expertise in PHP; proficient with MySQL; strong at JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
  


• Proficient with Agile development processes and tools.
  


• Exceptionally strong technical, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• MS degree in CS or related field preferred.
  


• Demonstrated experience with web product development in the Enterprise and/or SaaS space.
  


• Previous work architecting a web experience targeted at developers and IT professionals.
  


• Strong appetite for a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
