Innovation & Proposal Manager

Malta, MT - Research

The key responsibilities of the Innovation & Proposal Manager will include:



  • Cultivating and maintaining business relationships with customers (account managing).

  • Executing partner visits and phone calls to potential customers.

  • Planning and organizing customized sales strategies.

  • Coordinating sales efforts with the marketing team, the business line directors, the proposal managers and the technical area coordinators.

  • Up-to-date maintenance of a client and agent database ( Customer Relationship Management system).

  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

  • Drafting grant proposals in English, according to the specifications of the financing program and our internal guidelines.

  • Investigating the market and economic feasibility of new products and services.

  • Analyzing and validating innovative project concepts in the proposal preparation phase.

  • Preparing case studies, business plans and exploitation agreements.

  • Collaborating in consortium building and innovation management activities.

  • Coordinating in the proposal preparation stage with engineers, scientists and industrial partners.

  • Reviewing and submitting technical project reports.


The ideal candidate shall have:



  • A university degree, preferably engineering or physics. A degree in economics or marketing is also desirable.

  • Fluent spoken and written English, knowledge of other languages – Italian, Spanish, French, German or Dutch- will be advantageous.

  • + 2 year experience in the sales sector, preferably in B2B technology services.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities; ability to determine solutions for customers.

  • Proven track record in national or European financing programs, research/innovation projects or European institutions is an advantage.

  • Experience in preparing business plans.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Capacity to work both independently and within an international team.

  • Ability to cooperate with industrial partners, engineers and scientists.

  • Good command of MS Office and strong internet research skills, using different search engines and databases.

  • Willingness to travel frequently both nationally and internationally.

  • Driving license.
