Key Qualification
Ideal Candidate (Position will be based in Shanghai. Both domestic & international travel will be required for this role) Candidate will have achieved a track record of consistent success in Retail Compensation, with 8-10+ years of demonstrable experience in a multi-national company. Deep knowledge of local Retail industry and prevalent pay practices, with strong networking skills. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English. Energetic, independent, self-starter with the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity in a complex matrix structure. Excellent process management, planning and organizational skills. Resilient and determined to ensure projects and deliverables are achieved. Strong analytical skills and business acumen, with an ability to see the implications of actual and planned activities, adding value to management decisions. Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, with strong influencing skills. Exceptional excel/spreadsheet skills. Proven ability to learn on the fly and maintain composure in a fast paced environment. Pragmatic, quick-thinking, and action oriented to drive for results, with solid bias for customer service. Strong team orientation with collaborative style. Flexible attitude and an ability to get involved in details while maintaining wider view.
Description
Job Description: Leads the regional implementation & communication of Global Compensation programs; and the development & administration of Local Compensation programs/practices for Greater China Retail. Represent Global Compensation and provide recommendations to local HR Business Partners and Business Leadership. Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements & market practices governing compensation administration, and recommends appropriate courses of action. Formulates recommendations regarding development of the local salary structure, variable pay programs, job revisions, and organizational structures. Prepares special studies and recommendations. Expert knowledge of the local market. Collects and analyzes local competitive salary information to determine Apple Retail's competitive position. Develops and participates in local compensation surveys. Develop a local network of Retail Compensation professionals for ongoing knowledge of pay practices and shifting trends. Reviews proposed salary adjustments and variable program design for conformance to established guidelines, policies and practices. Reviews requests for new or revised classifications to determine appropriate salary grade assignment and variable pay eligibility.
