Role Title: UC Applications Design Engineer
Role Purpose:
UC Product Engineering delivers complex voice and data products & service to Vodafone’s Enterprise customers. This role is to plan, design, build, test, configure and document the deployment of in scope UC applications to meet product requirements
Key accountabilities
· Technical consultancy, as the Vodafone expert in UC products with all involved parties to deliver the product roadmap
· Document, communicate and endorse the detailed design guidelines for the products and platforms in scope.
· Discuss all technical points for RFQs/Change Requests/Purchase orders with other internal teams and vendor(s) required to deliver UC products.
· Maintain the relationship with vendors and suppliers, participate to regular review meetings.
· Technically steer all involved parties to allow a delivery of the UC application to the E2E testing team that meet the agreed criteria for the Ready for Testing (RfT) milestone for the UC product
Requirements
· Experience of working in an international telecommunication environment.
· Deployment experience of Cisco UCM and/or Microsoft Lync and/or Broadsoft/Broadworks
· Clearly demonstrated competence in a technical delivery.
· Demonstrable leadership experience in complex solutions delivery engagements with different stakeholders.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and technical presentation skills.
· Very good level of SIP and other core UC protocols
· Good understanding of IP routing protocols and virtualised hardware platforms
· Good understand of mobile networks design and architecture
· Fluently (reading, writing and speaking) in English
· Degree in computer science, electrical engineering or telecommunications
· Appropriate Cisco CCIE and/or MSFT MSCE certifications – or demonstrable plan to achieve
· Prince II is a plus
