Opportunity for a highly skilled Designed Authority with extensive Platforms experience to provide day-to-day and strategic technical ownership for the development of services through design for this high profile Financial Services firm in London.



As Design Authority the successful candidate will be expected to work with business managers, strategy and operations to design and develop new service capabilities and produce detailed technical solutions across strategic hosting centres, regional data centres and office based systems. The Platforms include Compute hardware, Hypervisors (VMWare, KVM, HyperV), OS (Windows Server, RedHat Linux, Solaris) and Citrix while Service concepts include delivery automation, cloud integration, secure by design and design to operate.



To be successful you will have in-depth technical knowledge of the platforms in use with knowledge of high availability architectures, minimising impact of planned maintenance to operations and delivering repeatable solution building blocks. You will have clear leadership ability to lead diverse technical and management groups in relation to technical development of new service capabilities, as well as supervising and mentoring more junior architects and engineers. You will have an ability to exert influence at a range of levels from CIO to design and operational support level including outsourced partners, plus have a strong background in the design and deployment of enterprise-level hosting services.



The ideal candidate will have knowledge of application architectures and impact of infrastructure on applications, an understanding of Cloud technologies plus be either ITIL v3 or TOGAF v9 certified.



Due to the nature of the role you must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
