Financial Analyst

I have been approached by my well established and respected Client based in Wigan to source and place a Permanent Finance Analyst in an already performing finance team.



With a competitive salary of £40-46k plus benefits the role provides the opportunity to join a Global business with a local presence in Wigan.



With the relevant experience and qualification you shall have an in-depth understanding over the following duties and be looking for a new challenge within a large business.

Reporting to: Finance Manager



Role:

The position of Finance Analyst is accountable for producing a range of financial information which provides a sound basis for management control and decision making. This position is responsible for ensuring all financial information is recorded and maintained in compliance with the Internal Controls Standards and Practices manual, the Corporate Controller's Manual, statutory reporting requirements of the UK, and US generally accepted accounting principles. The position assists a team that manages financial information related to assets, inventories including precious metals, costs, cash, payroll and purchasing.



Key Responsibilities:

· Complete month end close, submitting all required reports within the appropriate timeline. Closing duties, including cost centre and account analysis, processes order reviews and corrective actions, adjusts entries and posts recurring entries.

· Reconcile the balance sheet accounts from the system and ensure that all are correct. Ensure that any discrepancies are identified and resolved within 3 months. Also responsible for reviewing reconciliations prepared by others.

· Compilation of external reports such as Statutory accounts, Corporation tax pack, VAT returns and National statistics.

· Assists in ensuring there are adequate controls for financial processes.

· Partners with plant management to resolve financial related issues, assist and guide them on the method of cost and tracking cost saving opportunities.

· Guides the plant on management of the plant capital spending system and accounting for fixed assets.

· Assist the Finance Manager in the local budgeting process ensuring that the US deadline is adhered to.

· Supports the management team with analysis and detailed information to allow effective business decisions.

· Manage the external and internal audit process on site. Assist with the audit ensuring assistance is given when required to enable a smooth audit takes place.

· Provide effective cover for the Finance Manager (covering the weekly estimate and any other ad hoc requirements) and cover for the Manufacturing Accounts Assistant (covering the weekly close and any other ad hoc requirements).

· Manage intercompany accounting activities / reconciliations.

· Manage the relationship between the Wigan plant and Shared Service Centre support functions (Fixed assets and Accounts Payable).

· Support the processing of payables, including salary / wage disbursement.

· In addition to the responsibilities listed, other duties may be assigned by the Line Manager

· Some travel may be required.



Knowledge, Skills& Qualifications:

· A recognised accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

· Minimum 5 years relevant experience.

· Strong analytical ability and efficient time management skills are required. Effective leadership, supervisory, communication, administrative, and organizational skills are required.
