Job Description



Accenture’s IT Strategy professionals create the strategies and plans that define how information technology should support and inform an organization's overall business strategy.



We team with IT and business leaders at our clients to help them set the technology agenda and position their business and IT organization for the future. We also maintain knowledge of evolving IT and management trends, and apply them to develop innovative business strategies and solutions.



Accenture’s IT Strategy professionals identify our clients’ most important IT issues through rigorous analysis, and develop multi-year transformation roadmaps to address these issues and maximize business value. We apply knowledge of IT standards and leading practices to define governance, organization structure and staffing, architecture and processes for managing portfolios of projects.



An IT Strategy professional within Accenture has the following responsibilities:

  • Identifies, assesses and solves complex business and IT problems for their area of responsibility, where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of a range of factors

  • Interacts with senior management at a client and/or within Accenture on matters where they may need to gain acceptance on an alternate approach

  • Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals and tactical iniatives

  • Has some latitude in decision-making. Acts independently to recommend methods and approaches on new assignments.

  • Is decisive when making recommendations on approach or strategic direction. Decisions have a major day-to-day impact on thearea of responsibility.

  • Manages medium-large sized teamsand/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture.






C-Level Relationship Management and Development

  • Develop and sustain trusted-advisor and peer relationships at the C-Suite levels of an organization; have ready access and regular contact as appropriate by level.




Structured Problem Solving

  • Apply deep knowledge, differentiated points-of-view and rigorous analytics to shape innovative and pragmatic value propositions, IT strategies, operating models.




Business and IT Assessment

  • Conduct rigorous quantitative analyses to generate insights about improving client business performance and opportunities for value creation.




Effective Communication

  • Plan and implement influential communications that drive client commitment and motivate executives to adopt a new perspective or take action




IT Strategy

  • Identify the most important IT issues for clients and develop strategic multi-year roadmaps that address these issues to maximize business value.

  • Specific skills include: IT Strategy Development, IT Value Analysis, IT Opportunity Assessments, and EA Planning.




IT Transformation

  • Define and plan large-scale strategic IT transformations that meet both short and long-term business and financial objectives, and understand how such transformations involve a broad range of Accenture’s capabilities.

  • Specific skills include: IT Value Analysis, EA Planning, IT Governance, and IT Operating Model Transformation.




Enterprise Architecture Planning

  • Develop strategies and plans for how technology architectures will enable business processes and demonstrate alignment between business strategy and investments in IT.

  • Specific skills include: Industry Architecture Planning and Technical Architecture.




Technology Specialisation

  • Apply a specific technology, approach or domain of knowledge to inform the specific aspects of an IT strategy, in order to provide a practical perspective on how to implement the strategic recommendations.

  • Specific skills include: Infrastructure, applications, information security, cloud platforms, workforce productivity and collaboration (and others).




Relevant Degree qualification with excellent academic record is essential.
