Apple Online Store is the Apple Inc’s global e-commerce platform present in 39 countries with 25 payment methods and a rich feature set. Apple Online Store Payment team is looking for an exceptional Software Engineering Manager who has a proven track record in delivering complex and highly scalable software applications. This candidate should be innovative and possess strong analytical skills, creative thinking and a deep passion for software engineering. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for driving innovative product features and quality improvement initiatives to completion, within tight delivery schedules. This role requires excellent communication skills to collaborate with a broad range of teams and individuals including: other engineering groups; user interface design; product management; marketing and executives. The main focus will be delivering new Payment methods and expanding the Apple Online Store across the globe.



Key Qualifications

• - 5 years of software engineering management experience, preferably on eCommerce applications


• - Experience building, developing and managing highly effective engineering teams


• - Solid background in architecture, design and development of highly scalable and high availability software applications


• - Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Java required) and Service Oriented Architecture


• - Payment and international software development experience is a plus


• - Experience in leveraging offshore teams to deliver projects is another big plus

Description



- Manage a medium size team of highly skilled engineers



- Attract, develop and excite an outstanding group of individuals that, as a team, build next generation E-commerce platform



- Leading the engineering aspects of an application that needs to consistently remain efficient, secure, highly available, reliable, supportable, and scalable to millions of users



- Working closely with cross-functional teams to effectively coordinate complex design interdependencies



- Plan projects by providing initial and detailed estimates, managing resources, communication to senior management and other stakeholders



- Provide subject matter expertise to support needs for the business



- Drive innovation throughout the Apple Online Store engineering teams



Education



- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience

- Highly professional, with the ability to apply best practices to deliver high quality work on tight schedules
