This leading insurance and financial organisation is recognised as a leader in providing a comprehensive range of risk, insurance, investment and financial services to individuals and corporates across Australia.



Due to maternity leave, an opportunity has arisen for a senior insurance lawyer to join the insurance and risk business as General Counsel, Business Operations Manager. This is a senior role reporting to the CEO and the successful candidate will be part of the Senior Executive Group. This role provides leadership within the Risk Management Group of the business with primary responsibility for the underwriting, claims, third party compliance, refinance and general legal matters affecting the title insurance business.



To be considered for this role you will have 8+ years experience in insurance law (with a particular focus on property law). The successful candidate will also have the capability to attend Board meetings as required to present on their area as well as to be able to work with the overseas parent company, particularly on underwriting and claims issues. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have experience in managing a team and will be comfortable managing between 3 - 8 people.
