Finance Manager

Wigan, United Kingdom, GB - Accounting



My Client, working exclusively with Hays are seeking a Finance Manager to join their expanding and established business. Based on the outskirts of Wigan and reporting to the CEO you shall have control over the business finances, the finance team and manage both procedures, controls and production of the accounts. A varied role you shall take responsibility for managing the production of monthly management accounts, posting journals and carrying out balance sheet reconciliations. The Finance team consists of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank payments, petty cash and payroll, the role shall appraise all staff accordingly.



Main duties

Provide and interpret financial information (monthly accounts, cost accounts etc)

Monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future trends

Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines

Manage budgets

Manage company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems

Liaise with auditors, bankers, inland revenue etc

Manage a team of finance staff (sales and purchase ledger and payroll)

Oversee credit control processes

Develop financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk

Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities

Lead, train and motivate staff within the finance department

Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation

Take part in training and development activities

Promote and adhere to the organisations culture and values

Undertake any other duties commensurate with this role



In order to be considered for this role you shall be a Qualified accountant with experience of working within a manufacturing environment. Experience of operating SAGE 200 is essential along with the experience of preparing and presenting financial and management accounts, reports and data. Significant experience in a managerial role

and strong working knowledge of current accounting software systems with knowledge of management systems for all accounting functions including purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll, cash flow, cash and banking, nominal ledger and stock.
