This Civil Contractor based throughout New Zealand are currently seeking a specialist Road Construction Foreman to join their Christchurch operation.



With around 7-10 years experience working within a civil contracting environment, you will have solid exposure to roading and infrastructure workload. Along with a strong knowledge and ability to:



* Read and understand construction drawings and plans

* Forward plan, along with strong communication skills dealing with contract manager, clients and field staff

* Program and organise plant and staff on a daily basis

* Liaise with sub-contractors at an operational level to ensure they deliver on time when required

* Confidently operate a wide range of machinery including diggers, trucks, rollers and graders (you will hold valid licence and endorsements for these)

* Have a good understanding of process involved in a road construction project:

Kerb and channel installation

Carriage way construction and preparation for sealing layers

Path and berm construction

Basic storm water installation (sumps, kerb out lets and inspection boxes etc)

* Good understanding of the 'Christchurch City Council specifications' and the 'National Code of Practice'
