Group Financial Accountant

Our client, Anglian Home Improvements, based in Norwich, Norfolk seeks a confident and pro-active Qualified Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a newly created role that coincides with the decision to move all subsidiaries within this group from UK GAAP to IFRS and which will initially be responsible for enabling the complete overhaul of the Anglian s external financial reporting to improve the quality and enhance disclosure.
This role will suit qualified accountants, with large company experience, moving out of practice or those in a financial reporting role in industry within a large company that reports under IFRS. This is an excellent opportunity to work within this highly desirable local employer in a pivotal role.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller initial activities and responsibilities will include:
- Prepare annual reports under IFRS and in line with best practice for large companies
- Consolidate accounts at year-end including production of schedules to support all financial disclosures within the annual reports together with analysis of significant variations
- Produce financial KPI s for the annual report and distribute on a regular basis updates on those KPI s explaining trends
- Participate in the team producing commentary on non-financial disclosures important to the Group such as environmental impact, Health & Safety etc
- Responsible for the day-to-day relationship with the auditors
- Research and report upon changes in Financial Reporting, assessing impact upon the Group and recommending courses of action to implement such changes
- Carry out internal audits of the finance functions and reviews of divisional accounts
- Review, document and maintain the financial control infrastructure and accounting policies
- Take responsibility for Corporation Tax compliance in conjunction with the Group s advisors
- Develop the Group s policy with respect to electronic collections from customers including PCI compliance and money laundering
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant
- Up to date knowledge of IFRS and experience in producing large company accounts
- Excellent MS office skills
- Good communicator, both in writing and orally
