Hays IT have been retained by one of Northern Ireland's Tier 1 Managed IT Service providers for the provision of a Level 2 Systems Engineer to work in their prestigious offices. Our client is a dynamic and growing business who design and install complete IT hardware, software and networking solutions and provide Support & Maintenance for public and private sector businesses throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Systems Engineer is a technical role within the Engineering Department, and is responsible for implementing technical solutions and providing ICT support, management and maintenance duties for our clients



Duties

The range of activities that the SE will find themselves involved in include (but will not be limited to):



* Providing 2nd Level Support for our vendor portfolio so that faults may be resolved.



* Implementing Technical Infrastructure Solutions for our clients where we have been tasked commercially to do so. This should follow our standard build guides and standards and be documented to a high level so that support is straightforward for our Service Delivery team.



* Managing & Monitoring ICT systems and platforms, whether they be internal or for clients.



* Performing ICT Maintenance, either for clients or on internal systems.





Experience & Certification

Minimum 3 years' experience in two or more of the following technology areas (certifications are highly advantageous):



* Microsoft Server 2008 and/or 2012 (to include Virtualisation)

* Citrix (XenApp 6 and/or XenDesktop)

* IBM Server Hardware & Storage (IBM System X, Flex and Bladecentre)

* Cisco (Routing & Switching, Security)

* Security (RSA or Websense)



Candidates with additional experience or certification in the following areas are highly desired:



* Symantec Backup Exec and/or Veeam Backup and Replication

* Symantec and/or Sophos Antivirus and Security Suites

* Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012

VMware
