Our Storage and Backup Recovery team is one of the many key teams within our organisation, and is actively committed to supporting our Service Delivery model by providing proven, innovative and best practice processes, standards and methodologies to deliver superior service to our Client’s.

The team's primary role is to provide level 2 and 3 backup and recovery support, administration services for NetBackup and HP Data Protector. We also support peripherals including HP Storage Works, Sun Storage Tek, media management, backup monitoring & reporting as well as vendor management across multiple sites and customers.

To compliment our team, our business requires technically adept IT professionals with proven experience in a production environment. In these positions you will work with the end user, identify infrastructure needs of the client, provide solutions, break fix, provide critical reports and work with other teams to optimise service delivery.

To be considered for this team, you must ideally possess key skills and experience that includes the following;

• 3 - 5 years of technical experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, two additional years of relevant professional experience (5-7 years in total).


• Enterprise Backup systems administration skills and experience


• Unix and/or windows OS skills


• Exposure to any or all of the following Backup and Recovery methodologies - HP Data Protector and NetBackup


• Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the implementation of a specific deliverable


• Able to contribute to the design for deliverables


• Has ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on individual products


• Able to communicate broad and specific concepts with team and to peers


• Able to produce documentation for use by team and customer

It is expected successful applicants would have back up experience gained in a sizeable user environment. Working in a team it is expected you will exhibit customer service skills, a results oriented approach and strong verbal and written communication skills. Certifications in a backup technology are not mandatory but would be preferred. You must also be willing to participate on a 24x7 standby call out schedule as required. Work out of hours may also be required to support business requirements.
