Media Relations and Analyst Relations Manager in Canada to support HP’s Corporate, Enterprise and Personal & Printing Groups.
The media relations/analyst relations manager is responsible for driving HP local and global news announcements in country, as well as managing media and analyst relations campaigns in support of HP EB initiatives. Responsibilities also include acting as a key strategic advisor to senior management on Canada's overall media and analyst relations strategy, as well as leveraging external facing content from the Worldwide PR/AR teams.
Responsibilities also include AR and PR plan development and execution in Canada and alignment with the WW team to ensure consistent global messaging. Drive interactions with the Canadian business and trade press, as well as industry analysts.
This position requires the ability to process and understand multiple products and services, industry trends, and an ability to routinely work across business units to ensure that HP’s business and communication goals are reflected in external communications. Must be able to easily rework deadlines as business objectives and priorities change.
Specific duties include:
- Reporting to Americas AR/PR Manager
- Build external AR/PR plans for HP in Canada and work with AR/PR colleagues and external agency team to ensure that plan is being executed and updated on regular basis.
- Work with Worldwide AR/PR team to determine news pipeline and drive visibility and awareness through media coverage and analyst reports.
- Support corporate PR activities.
- Develop and own Canada PR/AR plan and success metrics; report on regular basis to WW.
- Drive competitive PR efforts to ensure that HP becomes top-of-mind among key media and industry analysts.
- Prepare regional spokespeople/executives for media and analyst interactions, by developing briefing materials, leveraging messaging, etc.
- Participate in and drive proactive media interviews and campaigns, media and analyst tours and customer reference activities.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Typically a B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent experience required.
- 5+ years of public relations experience in a PR agency or in-house
- Some industry knowledge and ability to identify media opportunities for HP
- Ability to prioritize multiple communication and business interests
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across multiple businesses and conflicting workstreams while keeping the best interests of HP top of mind
- Strong ability to quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
- Demonstrate a positive attitude in a deadline-oriented environment
- Self-starter who puts a top priority on obtaining positive results
