Technical Project Manager - Apple Pay

Apple Pay is seeking an experienced technical PM to manage the on boarding of new merchants for the Apple Pay platform in the U.S. Within this role you will work cross functionally with Apple Pay PMEs, Operations, Product Marketing as well as with networks, issuers and acquirers to help define and deliver payment processing solutions to support in app and physical payments. In partnership with the Business Development team, you will work directly with merchant partners to help develop and manage project plans to deliver new terminal and in app payment capabilities. The ability to manage multiple merchant projects from initiation to completion while providing consistent updates and communication to business leaders will be critical for success in this role.
The ideal candidate will have experience and subject matter expertise in payment processing, mobile payments, mobile commerce, NFC ecosystem and applications.
A working knowledge of payment terminals and associated firmware and relevant experience with merchant POS systems and software providers is a plus.
This role is full time and is located in our Cupertino, CA headquarters.
Key Qualifications:
•Seasoned technical PM with 7+ years of successful project and partner management experience
•Track record of quickly earning credibility based on your knowledge and ability to learn quickly
•Adept at communicating with developers, non-technical business partners and executive stakeholders
•Strong problem solving, negotiating, influencing, conflict resolution and decision making skills
•Exceptional time management, documentation and organizational skills
•Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
•Direct experience working with national retailers on cross channel initiatives and emerging technology is desirable
•Understanding of network tokenization standards and 3-D Secure rails is beneficial
•Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance
•Energetic and collaborative team player who feeds off of goal setting and achievement
Description:
Help formulate and oversee project plans with merchants including identifying scope, solution definition for physical terminals or in app payment architecture, testing plans and post launch operational processes.
Manage communication or progress/status within core team and external merchant teams; escalate issues as necessary.
Ensure risks are identified and mitigated.
Work closely with Product/Engineering, networks, issuers, processors and cross functional teams to resolve issues that arise during solution definition or implementation.
Participate in merchant meetings to understand and evaluate merchant capabilities and risks.
Travel is required.
Education:
B.A./B.S./M.S. EE/CS or equivalent
