Compliance Manager (Salt Lake City)

Dollar Financial Group is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager in the consumer credit industry. The Compliance Manager will be responsible for the independent review, enhancement and maintenance of the consumer debt collections department compliance program including monitoring, training, audit, risk assessments, policies and procedures. The manager will perform and oversee projects that are complex and require expertise in the financial services industry. The ability to effectively work with compliance personnel, operations, legal counsel and IT is imperative.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
In cooperation with collections management, legal, retail compliance, audit and training provide independent oversight of the consumer collections compliance program including:


-Review and enhance company policies and procedures for compliance with applicable consumer laws, rules and regulations.

-Monitoring of internal controls for existence and effectiveness

-Review and enhancement of collections training programs

-Coordination with audit and operations of audit plans, programs, results and modifications to policy and procedures, where needed

-Customer complaints monitoring and analyses

-Risk assessments

-Review Incentive/compensation programs and related controls.

-Centralize and maintain oversight of Inventory of all applicable laws related to collections operations.

-Perform GAP analyses of laws and regulations versus policies and procedures.

-Conduct research of individual regulatory-related matters identify and communicate regulatory compliance deficiencies or potential problems, and provide guidance in the development of alternative solutions or implementation of corrective action.

-Monitor and review regulatory and legislative changes, keeping abreast of upcoming and current changes; becoming familiar with the details of the regulation and advising management of the operational impact of trends and changes. Facilitate implementation of new and regulatory changes as necessary.

-Serve as an internal authority on relevant laws and regulations that may affect the Company.

-Provide written responses (as applicable) to inquiries of a regulatory nature, supporting analysis, conclusions and recommendations upon well-investigated and documented research of regulatory requirements.

-Communicate the results of compliance projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.

-Develop and maintain reporting requirements of the BOD and regulatory compliance committee, as requested.

-Coordinate with Legal Department on Global Policy implementations and maintenance.

-Work under the general supervision of the VP of Global Product Compliance and provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt personnel as needed.

-Pursue professional development opportunities, including external and internal training and professional association memberships, and share information gained with co-workers.

-Performs related work as assigned by the VP of Global Products Compliance.
