We are looking for a senior level technical, hands on, strategist to design, develop, and influence product architectural strategies across a Global Business Unit. The strategist will drive innovation for storage management software. They will have domain expertise in Cloud, Cloud OS, Enterprise SaaS, analytics, and Converged Systems. They will drive automation to increase efficiencies.



The ideal candidate will be proficient in software design, development, and integration. This will be a hands on technologist with a sense of urgency. He/she will have excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills and be able to interact with customers and cross-functional development teams. He/she will also be able to accurately estimate levels of development effort, and influence product design strategy. The individual must have high quality standards, be adept at object-oriented and web methodologies, and have strong problem solving skills, with a demonstrated leadership ability.



Primary responsibilities include conceptualizing and piloting new features which enable HP to achieve a storage management technology leadership position for our 3PAR storage arrays. In this role, the candidate will be a key contributor to 3PAR Management SW vision and will periodically present the vision and our product capabilities to customers, at technology conferences and internal leadership/strategy meetings. The person in this role will drive/maintain 2-3 year technology vision for 3PAR Management SW.



Responsibilities




  • Leads multiple project teams of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration

  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.

  • Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software systems design and development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit.

  • Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and update into architecture.

  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.

  • Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standards groups.

  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members to set an example of software systems design and development innovation and excellence.




Qualifications
Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent

  • Minimum 15+ years experience




Knowledge and Skills


  • Domain expertise in Cloud, Enterprise SaaS, and Converged Systems is preferred

  • Higher level automation experience

  • Proven success as a change agent

  • Industry expert regarding development of software systems design tools, and languages

  • History of innovation with multiple patents or deployed solutions in the field of software systems design.

  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experience in overall architecture of software systems.

  • Designing and integrating software systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational
