We are looking for OpenStack Client Principals to work closely with our customers assisting with the full cloud journey. This involves Business Development and pre-sales activities, presenting to C-Level stakeholders and outlining roadmaps and strategy to designing the best Cloud Solution for their business. This candidate should be an experienced consultant with a deep understanding of enterprise Cloud solutions, OpenStack functionality with a high degree of business acumen and analysis capability.
Key responsibilities
As a Client Principal OpenStack you will work closely with our enterprise customers to translate their business requirements into detailed technical requirements and develop the best OpenStack Cloud solution for them.
You will work closely with the Sales Pursuit team to help Business Development qualify opportunities, and build the pipeline and close Sales Orders for the group.
You will also work closely with our Enterprise customers to help architect their Cloud Solution.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Qualify opportunities and help build sales order pipeline.
- Involved in preparing and presenting proposals to Customers and creating Statements of Work (SOWs)
- Translating business & technical requirements into a solution architecture, in alignment with HP’s OpenStack roadmap.
- Technical discussions with customer stakeholders around OpenStack and its application within their enterprise
- Working with senior customer technical representatives to advise and guide on the overall solution.
- Driving workshops focusing on the transformation of the customer’s technology towards an OpenStack-based solution.
- Driving different programs and initiatives to generate demand for OpenStack solutions.
- Producing Strategy and Roadmap documentation, including Business Cases and Statements of Work (SOW).
- Presentations and evangelisation of OpenStack solutions at various events (e.g. OpenStack summit, HP Discover etc).
- Contribution of materialExternal and Internal communication through various internal and external means – i.e. Blogs, Wikis, SharePoint etc.
Qualifications
Required skills and experience
- Consultative selling experience
- OpenStack experience, including Compute, Network, and Storage components
- General cloud or systems experience, including design or implementation of: transformation, workload migration, performance analysis, HA, orchestration, automation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Relationship management of client accounts
- 10 years’ Enterprise experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 5+ years’ Consulting experience
Familiarity or experience with the following is an advantage:
- Experience across multiple industry verticals
- Experience with multiple virtualization technologies, for example: VMware, Xen and Hyper-V
- Experience with alternate cloud technologies, for example: Amazon & Microsoft Azure
- OpenStack community participation
This role will involve some travel.
