Static 2nd Line Support Engineer

The Kier IT department is based at the company headquarters in Sandy, Bedfordshire, and at a large office in Norwich. The IT team is embarking on several substantial projects and a major overhaul of its operations, which has resulted in the creation of the following new role.
I am now recruiting for a 2nd line analyst to be based on site in Harlow, operating as the Static IT support.
This role will be responsible for the provision of Service Delivery support, taking ownership for the full lifecycle of an incident or request and the co-ordination of and/or liaison with third party support providers and internal teams to ensure that incidents/requests are handled in line with the agreed service levels. As this is a static position, I am looking for someone who has the ability to work remotely and sometimes alone, as although there is a 2nd Line support function, that function is actually based at the head office in Bedfordshire.
As this is a customer facing position, I am looking for an approachable, professional and friendly candidate who can communicate at technical and non-technical levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 2nd line support for all service desk incidents passed up from the 1st line function. This will include remote fixes, taking call ownership, ensuring consistency throughout your work, Identify trends and alert the Service Delivery team leader of any issues, furthermore you will be required to make judgment calls to identify minor and major issues when appropriate, therefore we require a successful candidate to have a minimum of 2 years' experience in this environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
A proven high level of skills and experience in all of the following are essential to the role:
* Excellent Customer Service skills
* Experience of providing a professional technical support service within an ITIL environment
* Broad ranging technical skills including knowledge of supporting desktop, server and network support
* Verbal communication
* Written communication/ producing documentation using the standard Microsoft applications
* Problem solving
* Listening
* Proficiency at typing
* Attention to detail
* Understanding the technical implications of a situation
Desirable:
* Experience of supporting a range of mobile devices
* Microsoft Active Directory group policies
* VMware and Citrix knowledge
