UTC Server and Storage team is an exciting dynamic team, providing expertise in midrange server and enterprise storage technologies. Duties include; Setting the technical standards and strategy for UTC infrastructure, performing enterprise project management in conjunction with UTC outsourcing suppliers for major infrastructure programs, monitoring and controlling supplier performance, coordination of cross UTC business unit projects, and monitoring and controlling costs of services for UTC business units.We are seeking individuals to work within a cohesive team handling server and storage technologies.Job Duties Will Include:Strategy:Update and maintain the UTC IT Enterprise Storage RoadmapDrive strategic program initiatives that align with UTC and BU GoalsIdentify processes, techniques, and technologies required to maintain and modernize our world class storage environmentResearch industry trends and investigate emerging technologies recommending high performance, cost effective opportunities to meet business requirements.Project Management: Lead all data storage initiatives including the NAS/SAN/Archive, low cost storage,and all storage reporting and monitoring.Lead overall data protection strategies team; including backup and recovery compliance including tape management, offsite storage and disaster recovery.Lead cost savings initiatives to achieve global savings targets in enterprise storage. Multi tiered storage implementationsStorage reduction activitiesOther new technology deployment opportunitiesReports to key stakeholders the status and results of storage initiativeOperational Support:Communication, coordination and oversight to operational activities Development and monitoring of actionable metrics Lead continuous improvement activities (ACE) to investigate process and product turnbacks/escapes with the goal of sustainable improvements in quality and reliabilityLead Supplier Gold or ACE Gold for Supplier activities for key infrastructure suppliers EMC and Hewlett PackardAct as liaison between key storage suppliers and internal customers
