Facilities Technician

Leicester, United Kingdom, GB - Information Technology and Services

We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Technician. The Facilities Technician will have responsibility for the day to day operations supporting my clients regional data centres and computer rooms as part of the core team.



You will work closely with my clients Global GIS team, Global Data Centre Facilities Team as well as Business Partners.



Responsibilities include;



- Deployment work with local facilities teams, suppliers and GIS to specify and install new, and modify existing, Data Centre and computer room infrastructure.

- Project work with Regional and Global Teams to support DC Facilities; interact with business partners to define requirements, develop and deliver solutions.

- Administer change management (ITSM), DC monitoring and Preventative Maintenance. Ability to follow stringent established work plans.

- Provide support to GIS teams through Capacity Planning and technical support for DC Infrastructure (Space, Power, Cooling and Environmental)

- Participate in 'Out of Hours' on call rota



Skills and experience;



- Work experience in a computing environment with emphasis on Data Centre Facility Engineering/ Management: UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, generators, fire suppression etc.

- Very good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering disciplines

- Familiarity with the principles of ITIL/ITSM Supported by Remedy (advantageous).

- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.

- Time management, organizational skills, client management, good interpersonal skills, self-starter and good team player are attribute that will be looked for in a candidate.

- This role may require travel to other European sites
