Hays Senior Finance has been engaged to recruit a Financial Accountant for a rapidly growing agricultural business, based in Hereford.

In this varied Financial Accountant role you will play a key role at the centre of the company's financial accounting activities and you will be involved with complex and highly technical areas. Day to day responsibilities will include preparation and posting of accounting journals across a diverse range of commercial activities, preparing reconciliations; involvement with various tax returns such as VAT as well as preparation of year end statutory accounts. Additionally, you will provide support to the Accounting team and wider business, as well as getting involved in ad hoc projects. You will be required to assist with maintaining a tightly controlled accounting environment ensuring exceptionally high standards of quality are achieved at all times.

The successful candidate will be a fully qualified accountant or an actively studying finalist, with a strong academic record and a proven ability to grasp highly complex and technical matters. This would represent an ideal first post-qualification move, for someone who has trained within the profession or in industry. Key competencies include communication skills, a flexible approach and initiative.
