ETL Developer (Informatica) – Boston, MA

My client, a highly establish financial institution, is looking for an ETL Developer for a 12 to 18 month W2 contract position. This role will be located in Downtown Boston, MA. The BI Team has a number of new projects coming in that are running simultaneously

Looking to use Informatica to take source files into a Data Hub and building logic. Previous experience or an understanding of financial data is not imperative (but would be an advantage), but you must be able to analyze the existing Data Hub/Data Warehouses and SQL Server database, where the various data resides, participating effectively in project team design meetings and write ETL interfaces capable of pulling the data from source systems and moving it into the Data Hub/Data Warehouses.

You will have both interface to interface and SQL to interface experience.

Key skills/experience you must have to complete successfully:

• You will establish and enforce my client’s data warehousing standards to meet requirements and business needs


• You will evaluate existing subject areas stored in the data hub and determine where data should be stored


• You will have strong SQL Server development to produce effective database development including design, stored procedures, triggers, UDF


• You will collaborate with the DW/BI Manager to plan, design and analyze performance of ETL programs to address data requirements from new data sources


• You will minimize implementation risk and time and/or improve system reliability and performance


• You are capable of reviewing ETL programs developed for compliance with best practices, standards, enterprise architecture and documentation requirements, ETL process, programs and scripts


• You must be able to conduct root cause analysis and resolve performance and production problems and data issues


• You will provide ongoing move maintenance and support of assigned ETL applications


• You can assist in several components of the overall ETL process and data warehouse system


• You can document tasks for end-user, technical, and managerial review to ensure high quality customer service.


• You can successfully perform quality assurance testing of data integration and report development

You must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred


• Demonstrated experience and competency in SQL and ETL concepts


• Working knowledge of Informatica preferred – my client uses Informatica 9.0.1


• Experience with SQL Server


• Must be highly organized and detail oriented


• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team and independently
