Senior Internal Auditor

Our client, a FTSE 50 business with a household name, seeks a career driven Senior Internal Auditor for their corporate audit team. The organisation is going through a period of change following a large acquisition, resulting in the creation of a new business area focused on business to business sales and service delivery. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the team focuses on establishing relationships with Group management to initiate an effective system of internal control, and gaining credibility through the delivery of value add audit work. You will lead audits in Group and deliver efficient and effective assurance over business processes and control environment, acting as an effective business partner to the management team to identify, articulate and influence both the set up and the ongoing development of an appropriate internal control environment.

In effect, you will be helping to highlight potential risk within the business and providing tangible audit scope to then provide insight to management as to what is happening, the potential risks and the opportunity for mitigating controls. This is a highly commercial role that would suit someone with the ability to work in a very consultative, pragmatic and collaborative way, rather than someone who is more comfortable with a very structured audit plan.

Applicants should ideally be qualified accountants - ACA, CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent, with solid commercial audit experience gained within industry or practice. Excellent communication and influencing skills are essential, as is strong commercial acumen and the ability to think outside the box. International travel of 25-30% can be expected.
