Category Manager / Plymouth / Permanent / £30,000 - £35,000 Dependant On Experience.



An excellent opportunity has now arisen to become a pro-active member of a professional procurement team, ensuring a consistent focus on achieving value for money across the organization in question.



Key Duties & Responsibilities-



· Deliver corporate procurement initiatives and support the delivery of corporate objectives including category management.

· Provide professional guidance and direction to colleagues on complex technical enquiries and legislative issues relating to procurement and category management.

· Recommending improvements to the Strategic Procurement activities to achieve efficiencies and work towards corporate aims and delivery of budgetary targets.

· Responsible for the development and implementation of fit for purpose and robust procurement practices that meet the requirements of UK and EU regulations; mitigate commercial and legal risks to ensure value for money.

· Responsible for delivering services within the allocated budget, including forecasting and funding opportunities, ensuring value for money, in accordance with the financial regulations and improvement priorities.

· Identify and engage with new suppliers and advise all suppliers on tendering requirements.



Required Experience-



· Proven & demonstrable experience within Procurement, Category Management and / or Contract Management.

· Financial and commercial awareness with strong analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving

· Excellent negotiation and communication skills

· Successfully managing complex procurement projects within a diverse commercial market.

· Prioritising differing stakeholder needs

· Communication with and influencing departments to deliver procurement process

· MCIPS or currently on CIPS journey Desired
